It was the beginning of facebook and digital cameras had also just become readily available. Everyone was coming to clubs, taking pictures, taking on a kind of celebrity drag. It was superficial, ironic and lots of fun. You had to be a part of the scene at that time to understand the energy.

It is was very interesting to be a judge of a model search after everything I went through with my own body. Some people called me "the mean judge." I think it more just looked that way the way they edited the show. I actually found it quite harrowing to critique other people's looks to their faces (but I never showed that on camera.)
